A graduate of Friendswood High School where he made his mark in varsity baseball, Forero's roots run deep in the Texas baseball community. After high school, Forero took his talents to Texas A&M Corpus, where he impressed in his freshman year. But the best was yet to come. Transferring to the University of Houston for his sophomore and junior years, Forero continued to turn heads and capture scouts' attention. By senior year, his talents were too glaring to ignore; he became an undrafted free agent pick-up for the San Diego Padres, making the leap to professional baseball.

What followed were two whirlwind seasons in the Padres system, specifically in the advanced A-ball California league with the Lake Elsinore Storm. His time on the field may have been shorter than some, but what he absorbed and learned are lessons that can't be quantified.
